How it works

Bamboo Bubby Bags™ are created using a high end blend of 70% ultra soft bamboo fabric and 30% organic interlock cotton. This special fabric combination has been selected because of the many ways in which it helps those who deal with eczema and dermatitis.

ScratchMeNot™ flip mitten sleeves have also been created using bamboo, cotton, silk, and stretchable lycra for the same great reasons.

The Benefits Of Bamboo Fabric

We’re finding out about new benefits of bamboo fabric all the time and many studies now back this upwhich is why we create bamboo baby eczemas products using this amazing fabric. Here are just a few of our favorite reasons to choose this versatile material…

Bamboo Breathes!

The special nature of bamboo fabric makes it open up and expand when it gets warm. This means that when your child gets hot or sweaty, the fabric will actually begin to allow more air flow to soothe the skin. Stagnant air is a trigger for eczema flare ups, so this benefit is one of the most helpful.

Naturally Drying

Skin that deals with excess moisture from sweating can become weakened, damaged, irritated, and more prone to eczema and dermatitis flare ups. Bamboo fabric is naturally wicking – it absorbs excess moisture from the body and helps it naturally evaporate without leaving the skin overly dry. This same benefit also makes bamboo fabrics quick drying after a wash.

Super Smooth

Bamboo is one of the softest and gentlest textiles known. It has an extremely low abrasion on the skin and doesn’t cause the same irritation that most conventional fabrics do. Bamboo’s softness makes it extremely comforting to children.

Temperature Control

The breathability and wicking powers of bamboo fabric makes it great for helping regulate body temperature. When children become hot, inflammation is more likely. Cold hands and feet can lead to restless sleep and a fired up immune system. Bamboo helps keep children cool when it’s hot and warm when it’s cool. It’s a truly perfect thermal fabric!

Sneeze Free

Many soft fabrics like wool and synthetics are also extremely allergenic to sensitive kids. Bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic with no known allergic responses. The smooth fibers mean that it doesn’t irritate the skin or trigger an immune response, and the fact that it’s not an animal byproduct makes it free from common allergens.

Clean & Clear

Bamboo fabric is actually antibacterial and antimicrobial. It contains a naturally occurring bacteriostatic agent called bamboo kun which allows it to be one of the hardiest and most successful organic crops being grown. This amazing property means that wearing and using bamboo fabric can help cut down on the number of infections your child experiences as part of eczema flare ups – including staph!

There has been some studies undertaken in whether or not this anti-bacterial benefit remains when bamboo is manufactured into fabric. The Japan Textile Inspection Association (JTIA) completed a study that claims that even after 50 industrial washes, bamboo sheets showed a 70% effectiveness of antibacterial properties.

The China Industrial Testing Center completed a similar study, where bamboo fabric was tested over a 24 hour incubation period with the bacterial strain Staphylococcus aureous. Their results showed after a 24 hour period, the 100% bamboo fabric showed a 99.8% kill rate.
